when i turn the hot tap on to run a bath one of the radioators gets pretty hot do i need a new diverter valve ,i have changed the diaphram but its made no difference thanks

Get a service kit and save yourself a fortune. Never replace the diverter as a whole. What can possibly go wrong with the brass body?
If its like the one pictured then overhaul is easily done with the valve in situ.

thanks for reply do i have to drain the whole system or just the boiler

Release the system pressure and drain the boiler only. Protect the electrics from water damage and isolate b4 starting.
