Hi folks, hope you can help with this...
I have a Baxi Solo 2 60 PF boiler, it is not exactly having difficulty starting and stopping but it seems to “stutter” on start up and closedown although to date it has never failed. It sounds to me as if there is a bouncing solenoid – forgive me if this sounds odd but I am not that conversant with the correct terminology so I am using terms as I think appropriate. The sound comes from a grey box which is situated in the middle of the bottom of the boiler under a removable panel, its face size is circa 110 mm wide by 50 mm high, the significant left hand side of the face is a removable cover with one recessed screw (bottom left) and one visible screw (top right) and the right hand side has a knob which runs clockwise from 0 (off) * (asterisk – presume frost?) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, with holes below for I think LED’s to show through for (from left to right) Overheat, Boiler On, Fan On, Pilot On and Burner On. Can you identify this component for me and advise if this is something that is replaceable by me, should I wait for it to fail or replace it straight away?
