Baxi Solo 3 PFL Intermittent fault

Help!

Have a 3 year old Baxi Solo 3 PFL range which has an intermittent fault in that the boiler goes to overheat .... reset.. overhead etc etc pump working ok after approx 6 or 7 resets works ok for approx 7- 10 days then same old problem.

Can anyone suggest what the problem is? :(

not been serviced althogh have had a plumber to it... he was not sure of the problem could servicing be the issue?

not really sure what u mean... (woman brain!) I can just about work ot the reset from the manual! but am loathe to keep calling out the plumber as the fault seems to right itself by the time he arrives. No ryhme or reason to it going to overheat... not excessive use of heating or water system and no-body else on the estate with same age bolier having same problems.

Would love to know whats causing this.. and how to rectify it :confused:
 
If some one has taken the case off it is poss they have un clipped the thermister from the pipe work within the boiler. Now in winter when you have rads as well as hot water it may not over heat very often causing the lock out. But if you have hot water on only in the summer or when rads are satisfied it may happen more regular.

If it isnt unclipped i would then think about getting a corgi man to replace the thermister.
