For oil just use baby oil.
Does the same so I'm told.

If you want a nicer smell just put some essential oils in it.

No mate you are wrong. Baby oil is not good for the skin. Full of scent.

My gp said to avoid baby oil

My beard doesn't squeak so I never dreamt of oiling it. Some use castor oil I believe, I have no idea what for.
I'm sure I've had a few oils on it, like engine oil, raw linseed oil.... the only one I remember was EP heli gearbox oil, which stung.

After shaving put witch hazel on your face/neck, closes the pores and sooths the skin so no spots. Cheap as chips, get a bottle in Home Bargains for less than £2.

My barbor said to use it, he had a good beard on him.
Google suggest otherwise although it does suggest not putting it on the face as it can clog pores and cause acne.
Yet other sites suggest it can be good for acne.

Not good for the skin? why is it good for babies then? surely if it was not good for the skin then millions of mums would be getting upset about this?

Lots of people use baby oil on their beards without problem.
Even better to get coconut oil based baby oil.
