I have read in various places that a shower tray should be fitted onto a bed of sand & cement to stop it from moving.
Can anybody advise me whether this needs to be done for a stone resin tray and if so do I put the mix around just the edges or do I need to lay a mix everywhere underneath the tray?
P.S. This is to be sited upstairs on floorboards.

Many Thanks in advance.

you need to build it up on a wooden frame with some green chipboard cut to the shape of the tray (leaving a gap to fit your panel flush). On the chipboard you lay a sand cement mix to spread the weight and stop the tray cracking (I use 80 sand 20 cement to stop it cracking when it dries). Make sure you build the frame high enough to accomodate the trap and the drop in the waste pipe.
