Have posted before re my trusty Canon iP7250.
This seems to have gasped its last breath.
Would be most grateful for advice on, any make, best home printer
that will accept compatible inks.

My preference is an HP printer where the print head is part of the ink cartridge. ( Mine is a Envy 5523 )

A new print head with each cartridge may seem "expensive" but the head never needs cleaning or flushing which means no ink is wasted in flushing the head. It can go unused for several weeks without the heads drying and clogging up.

I use the same. When I bought mine, as they came with full ink cartridges it was cheaper to buy two machines instead of one machine and two spare cartridges (Black and colour). I think they were on an offer at PC World for £39.99 at the time.

I had a "dis-agreement" with one purchase, the cartridges fitted were minimum volume, just enough for a few sheets, but the carton said full volume. Shop provide full volume cartridges free of charge.

Thanks for all replies. I have eventually gone for a Canon TS3150.
Output is better than my iP7250 and the carts can be refilled, very pleased.
