Hey
We've just moved to a new house and the garden is mostly soil. Sadly it seems like the owners before us had the whole thing covered in garden stones but removed them. Sadly, the tiny stones have worked it's way into the soil especially a few inches down and it's making dogging holes with our cheapish spade nightmare.

What type/style spade would be best? I've seensomensay trench/post spades would be best while others say they're the worst. Any idea?? Thanks for any help and advice.

The holes will be for trees, pets graves, a small pond in the future just general stuff really etc.

Regular spade shape but pointed on the end so helping to push stones aside when you dig in... you can cut the bottom of a spade to shape
