Removed lining paper on halls stairs and landing because of mould issues. Hopefully the problem has been corrected

Found loads of cracks & a few bits of blown plaster too. What's the best way going forward?

Repair cracks & blown plaster

Complete or partial re-board(if possible) & reskim?

Lining paper again because the wife wants it painted anyway.

Rake out cracks nice and deep.
PVA 4-1 seal joints.
Fill with toupret powder.
Sand.
Seal with Gardz.
Wallrock fiber liner.

Dry washing with a dehumidifier in the room.
Run a dehumidifier in the evening for a few hours. We run two.. one up as and one down.
See how that works out regarding mould control

PVA do you mean 4 parts PVA 1 part water or other way round?

Good idea with that type of liner paper, not heard about it before.

I've never lined a ceiling before, how easy/difficult is it?

Dehumidifier had been run in room with washing, i am surprised how quickly it gets dry. Might have to invest in a smaller one for that though. No sign of mould back yet, so fingers crossed.
