Hi my prv seems to be leaking at about 2.7 bar so i am looking at replacing it.is it something a novice can do? i think i just need to drain the boiler usung the prv then unscrew and replace or is there more to it than that ....

You could isolate the f & R uner the boiler, then drain just the boiler.

Why is the boiler running with the pressure at 2.7 anyway?

Should be just over 1 bar cold, approx 2 bar rads hot.

hi dave
the company that fit my radiators set the pressure at 1.5 cold and told me to keep it at that but when rads are on it rises to aprox 2.8-2.9 is this not right then? do you think i should drop pressure to 1 bar cold?
also sorry to sound thick but what is the f and r and how would i isolate.
thanks

Either you have too many radiators (too large a system) for the boiler expansion vessel to cope with, or you need to check the EV pre-charge pressure.

Search FAQs on how to do this.
