I have a biasi Riva compact m90e 24s boiler and have been experiencing problems with it for a few months now.

The pilot light sometimes works and sometimes does not ignite or goes out. It sounds as if the boiler is still working but the hot water will start going cold and so will the radiators. Then when i go to have a look at the boiler the pilot has gone out. The light flashes faster than normal however the lockout lamp does not light up.

I have had engineers out from the gas board and i have had a new air pressure switch, a new fan and a new expansion vessel. I have also had a powerflush done as recommended by an engineer. However the problem still persists. Any ideas what could be the problem?

The problem might not occur for 2/3 days and sometimes it can occur several times a day. I am at my wits end can anyone help?

Your boiler does not have a pilot light. Nor is there any gas board any more!

Just call back the engineers and make sure they fix it properly.

Then claim back the cost of power flushing as it was obviously not needed to make it work.

Thank you for your reply.

As you can tell i am no expert in this industry and when i mean pilot light i mean the ignition spark? (is that the correct term) also when i say gas board i mean my energy provider.

Corrections aside any idea what the problem could be? I have had the engineer out numerous times and the problem does not always occur when they come to visit. They say they can only repair a problem if it occurs whilst they are on site. They cannot seem to pin point the problem rather they are using a process of elimination. Trust me i have tried to get them to repair the boiler but it seems the method i am using is not working. I have written the energy company a complaint letter already and i am awaiting a reply.
