Big Bang Again

I recorded that programme but haven't had time to watch it yet. If I can ascertain what happened before the 'big bang' I'll be sure to post my findings on here!

Someone said "and whatever you don't touch that button"............. ;)

Well according to the theory there is no "before" the big bang as the space time continuum didn't exist.

Which is what the programme explores, as the maths breaks down as time approaches 0.

Big bang ? either nothing caused it or something caused it.

Theres only two options, both are mind boggling.

Apparently there is no before the big bang, Nothing.

An explosion of energy that brought the material universe in to existence.

How those ancients described the first causation is interesting

Point 10 on the above space time matter in the book of geneis how did they know that ?

The programme explores alternative theories which include the 'Big Bang' being the effect of a cause, so looking at what was there before what the Big Bang theory calls t=0.

So some scientists do not accept the Big Bang.

This is a good example of how science works, in that a theory to solve a problem is tested and challenged until a better one is found then it starts again.

First link is a good demonstration on the power that was invested in words.

To be honest, the second and third links are all easily discounted. Eg the notion that people thought the earth was flat in Columbus' time is just incorrect, a modern myth. From ancient times the shadow of the earth on the moon showed people that is was a globe, as this was the only shape that would always give a rounded shadow.

Point ten is stretching credulity !

Did you see the bit in the prog about energy 'creating' matter which then caused the Big Bang?

Definitely agree it is all mind boggling.
