Bitumen corrugated roofing sheets

Hi all

What would be a ideal fixings to secure the roofing sheets to timber ?

I’m also overlapping the bitumen sheets onto asbestos corrugated roofing was thinking of using a adhesive/sealant would that be acceptable and what sort of adhesive would be best to use ?

I'm guessing just the standard stainless roofing screws with rubber grommets and caps? Given that you're working with fairly fragile sheets, you need to be careful not to screw them down too hard.

Not over asbestos roofing, I would remove it first otherwise you are just hiding something from the next occupier who wont know its there.

That's a bigger question. Is it our duty to rectify all potential hazards when renovating properties? Sometimes the expense involved is prohibitive, is it not?

It’s not hiding anything it’s just extra covered area until a new extension is built, not removing any asbestos roofing for now , and it’s only over lapping a couple feet at most

Anyone know a good fixing to asbestos roofing so the weather( wind) doesn’t lift the bitumen ?

That bitumen roofing is cack , on a shed which had osb board below it the bitumen sheet distorted in the sun and was squashed almost flat by weight of heavy rain .

Don't know what you were using but I have the same on my shed with osb underneath and have had it for about 10 years maybe more there is no way rain can squash it flat. It is maybe getting near to replacement time but only because I go on it a lot to cut a hedge and also use it as a platform form other DIY jobs. I lay a board across it when I am up there.

I got mine from B and Q so wouldn’t expect it to be the best quality. Its the brown/ red colour - was yours black so suffered from the sun ?
