Who would have thought twenty years ago that this would be the case, buton this one I think Blairs right.

viz : He said: “But there is no doubt that those who commit the violence often do so by reference to their faith and the sectarian nature of the conflict is a sectarianism based on religion. There is no doubt either that this phenomenon is growing, not abating.”

Has anyone ever wondered the root cause of religious (muslim) fundamentalism, ignorance and poverty are two reasons but the Humiliation and exploitation of the non white races by the west are other factors.
China was exploited by the west for centuries, it was until the Chinese and others asserted themselves by turning to an extreme form of socialism called communism that they gained the respect of the west.
The humiliation of muslims by the jewish colonisation of Palestine is another factor, the extreme muslims believe that moderation and restraint has achieved little for the average muslim.

Blair should no all about religious extremism apart from his grandfather being a prominant Orangeman, his invasion of Iraq opened a pandoras box of religious fanaticism.

That's f'uckin rich coming from a so-called Christian who took us into in illegal war and effectively killed thousands of innocents, including our own brave men and women. And now we're more hated than ever and at a greater threat of terrorism...!!!

I wouldn't put it quite like that.....but I don't think I could put it any better.

I wonder if Tony Blair (our "middle East peace envoy")would support the overthrow of Saudi Arabia, after all it's an Islamic state with no democratic institutions to speak of.
Or that other beacon of democracy Israel which is so democratic it bans the indigenous peoples of Palestine from returning to their lands.
