Blanking u bend sink end

I’m plumbing in a washing machine and I have a single appliance u bend spare. I thought I’d use that. But how do I blank off the sink end as I only want to attach to the hose output?

You know that are using the wrong fitting so whatever you do will be a bodge. I'm sure you can find something to block the hole but why not do the job properly.

looking at the trap end it’s 1.5inch bsp. I can get a blanking cap for £2. Save me a tenner

Washing machine discharge needs air behind it, blanking that off wont provide said air. May find you have issues with washing machine emptying if it cannot vent properly.
