My plumber changed the leaking cylinder and I said I would bleed the radiators, starting from the non-thermostatic valved radiator in the system-thermostated hall.
After this operation the upstairs radiators came ON but not the downstairs ones. All other radiators are thermostated. I'm reluctant to call the plumber in at £55 per hour. Now what?

I'm going through teh same thing. I fixed it first time round by opening teh drain valves in the downstairs circuit, which cleared an airlock in the pipes. Second time around I'm having less joy! Could be the loft valve needs venting (I'd forgotten that one) so that's this evenings project...
