Hi,
i have some reclaimed oak blocks (21cm x 7 cm x 1 cm thick) which are quite clean underneath, only having a light coating of adhesive. They are at least 20 years old and i have just removed them from one room in my house.
I plan to lay them in another room which has a level, smooth, dry concrete floor.
Please could someone advise me;

1) Can i lay them directly onto the concrete or should I lay some type of sub-floor first?

2) Which type of adhesive works best and is it essential that I remove all the existing adhesive from the blocks first?

3) Do I need to use bitumen?

4) Since the blocks are well seasoned, can I lay them right up to the skirting boards or must I leave an expansion gap?

Many thanks for your advice.
