Best thing for blood is COLD water, since its on a matress, you want to sponge it off, it will remain damp a while of course. Otherwise, the remaining stain will be killed off by stain remover like Stain Devils, you might need to sponge rinse it, and febreeze it too (or other similar products - I dont have shares in the company or anything).
 
Before your parents or worse your wife sees it, :oops: quickly take your or your nieghbours cat to the vet, get a receipt and say the cat was sick and made a mess all over the bed!

It worked for me. ;)

Seriously, the best thing to remove a blood stain is saliva!


(I have heard it must be the saliva of the person whose blood it was ... but have not tested that theory out.)

Soften the stain with lots of saliva, then it will wash out normally.


Or use Glycerine to soften the stain. (Buy it from a pharmacy.)

Use warm water, not hot water as it sets the blood, and cold wont move it.
