Boarding concealed WC frame -wall hanging pan

Hi

I am currently fitting a grohe frame for a wall hung pan and just had a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with

1. Aquapanel or Ply for boarding out in preparation for tiles
2. method of fixing boards to the frame, or should I make a timber frame and attach to this??

1) If the area is not going to be subjected to high volume of water spray, I would be happy to use standard plasterboards to tile to
