boiler cycling

the more frequently a boiler cycles on/off the less efficent it will be. for example a 30kw boiler running 3 rads will cycle because the output is mismatched to the load. alot of modern boilers have inbuilt time delays to help minimise cycling.

Could be cycling due to faulty pump, causing boiler to heat but not getting rid of heating water? but wouldnt cycle quickly ,proberbly every few mins

Or if has flame rectification(no pilot light)electronic ignition and faulty eletrode could cause cycling.Usually insuation breaks down.

id start by looking at the probe if indeed it is electronic ignition.

What boiler is it

also this is why "boiler interlock' is now being enforced - so the boiler doesn't cycle and shuts off when room and cylinder stats are both satisfied.
