Hi

All help will be much appreciated.

I have a newish, regular Worcester boiler that was installed in November 2022.

This question relates to days/weeks/months when I have no need for CH.

Is it better for the boiler if I heat up the water for 20 mins a day, or 40 mins every other day, or even 60 mins every 3 days?
I only need this water for a shower, from the insulated cylinder.

With regard to boiler maintenance, is there a minimum segment of time that the boiler should be run for?, and then not be used again till the next day, or 2.

Is a shorter or longer running time better for the boiler?

Many, many thanks.

I run my old cast iron boiler for an hour a couple of times during summer just to give it a run, i suspect its not really necessary as its serviced once a year, likewise your combi must be serviced annually.

My Worcester has an an anti seize cycle that runs the boiler for a short period daily if it hasn't been used.

So I would put on heating for 20 daily and then hot water for 20 daily to cycle the diverter too.

Thanks for the replies. Running the HW for 20 mins a day seems a good minimal time.
