does anyone know of any websites where i can obtain boiler manuals for free ?
i have been looking but only found websites that you have to pay a annual subscribitions

In your case you're lucky. It's partsarena.com/baxi.
Other mfrs don't always list old boilers. There's a subscription service at http://www.themanualslibrary.co.uk/ which has a lot of old manuals scanned, and you can get the mfr-site downloadable ones on discs for a few pounds from ebay.
