hi, last week my boiler pressure had dropped and was 0.6, I have an ecotec pro28...a friend topped it up for me which was tricky as the valve (screwdriver one) wouldn't close again...the pressure is now 2.6 - help! also since then my water upstairs (boiler is in cupboard in bathroom) is tasting and smelling rubbery!! this has been so for a few days and now it is the same downstairs...I have no idea what is going on any advice appreciated.

hi yes it is a combi - eco tec pro 28 valiant also when I run any cold water in the house the pressure drops and then when the water is stopped the boiler sounds like it is refilling

Your nice friend has left the filling valve partly open and the water is at too high pressure.

The rubbery small in the water is a bit less obvious. Its sounds as if a boiler part may have failed.

I think you need a boiler engineer to inspect it and diagnose the problem.
