Please help advice needed

I have had a Worcester Combi Boiler recently fitted that is a couple of years old. Everything was working fine for a few weeks until yesterday.

I tried to put on the central heating and it wouldnt come on, the red light was lit up so the boiler as switched on, I noticed the pressure was low so increased to 1 and a half bars.

The hot water is heating up (dont think its as hot as it was though)

Each time I turn on the hot tap the boiler fires up, but as soon as i turn off the tap it stops?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Andrea

It is supposed too

Go through the problems again

When the 'heating is turned on' it doesnt come on.

The water is warming up though

Just no heating, none of the radiators are heating up not even a little bit they are all freezing!

Thanks

lets get this straight.

1) You have had a second hand appliance fitted recently
2)The installer did not instruct you on how to use it or how it works.

I've got my worry beads out here.

At the very least you need to get the installer out. If he has installed a second hand boiler recently it may be illegal if its not condensing, and in any event the whole issue of installing secondhand appliances is fraught with pitfalls. How do you know it was not removed from previous location as it was unsafe. Is the installer a registered Corgi installer?

We need a bit more info here, or am I being unfairly suspicious/cautious. I think not.

Alfredo

The boiler was removed from my mums house as it was being compulsory purchased by the council for demolition.

It was bought 3 yrs ago and was in perfect working order no problems at all, if she had i would not have bothered paying a corgi registered plumber/ gas fitter to remove it and re-install it.
I was showed how to work it as in turn it on/off put and it on a timer etc. It also has instuctions.

I will be calling him tomorrow, but I a was hoping its something simple I have missed that you people may have come across before like I have pressed a wrong button or something! So I can get warm now!

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Oh yes I forgot to add it has been working for me fine for the past month until today, so i doubt it has anything to do with the removal or installation would it?

Thanks

No maybe not anything to do with removal or installation but what Alfredo was suggesting is
The boiler is second hand and if the installer was a corgi registered installer, He would have notified Corgi of this installation and not being a condensing boiler he would have filled in appropriate forms explaining why the boiler is not condensing.

This has got nothing to do with why the boiler is not working but be careful what you say in the future.

I have no idea of whether it is a condesing boiler or not??? I will ask husband or I will check the instructions and post the make and model.

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem with my heating may be?

The pilot light only comes on when the hot tap is running as soon as th hot tap is turned off the pilot light goes out.

It's quite likely to be to do with "external controls" ie programmer/timer, or room thermostat. WHat have you got?
Which worcs combi is it, they did an awful lot!

Nothing obvious. You need to get the manual from the website and go through looking for lights, voltages etc.
