I have a ferroli optima 700 boiler that gives CH and hot water supply. In one room I have an underfloor heating pump and underfloor heating. Connected to the boiler is flow valve so that if the underfloor heating is on and I need hot water elsewhere then the valve diverts it to domestic hot water on demand. CH heating is controllled by the underfloor heating thermostat as this tends to be the coldest room. All radiators are controlled manually.

For some time now been have a very random issue that results in the boiler lighting and the fan running for maybe a minute or two and then turning off meaning hot water goes cold. Recently I've noticed this happening too with CH. Sometimes it will just flick on then off immediately. The other day I turned the boiler off overnight and when I relit it the following morning it worked fine for about three or four days. If I flick quickly between hot water and hot water and CH option sometimes this can give a temp fix.

It's been suggested that it could be either a faulty flow valve or faulty thermostat. Just wanted to get an understanding on what it might be before I call someone out to take a look.

Thanks in advance

This was resolved and was a burnt out relay on the electronics board which only intermittently worked.
