I have a Worcester 24CDi combi boiler. It stopped working last night and I cannot get it going again.
In the last few weeks the pressure has been dropping faster than it normally would. I do not have the money to get a heating engineer out to investigate and so I re pressurise the boiler. Both the heating and hot water are working fine at this stage. I cannot find any water leaks in the system even under the floor boards.
In the last week the boiler has been making a real noise whenever its on as if its running really rough. The heating and hot water are fine though.
Last night I went to program the heating and found that there was a rapidly flashing red light next to the hot water symbol. I read the manual and this said that there was an air flow fault. I turned the heating off, which was working fine at the time. I then tried the hot water at the sink and found that there was none. I also didn't hear the boiler fire up as usual when hot water is demanded. I had to go out for a while and progammed the heating to come on. On my return the heating light was on, on the panel, but no heat. The flashing red light was still there. I bled all the radiators of any air and re pressurised the system. I then tried to get the heating going but got nothing.
I then took the front panel of the boiler off and I cannot see the pilot light. I am guessing that this should light automatically. I have tried turnin the boiler off and then on again a few minutes later. The flashing red light stays off but when I try the heating I get no heat, the boiler does not fire up and, after 30 secs, the red light begins to flash rapidly once more. There is still no pilot light.
We are very cold and any help would be most appreciated as we cannot afford to call an engineer out and its the worst time of year for this to happen.
I would like to thank anyone taking both the time to read this and reply.
