Boiler in on a vertical pipe, i'm after turning on heating again and it seems fine. What psi should i see at air valve on expansion tank?

you need to drain the system to check the air pressure in exp ves, not worth doing considering the probs you've had. Watch the pressure as the system heats up, if it goes to 3 bar there's a problem if, it stays on a max 2 bar you should be ok.

on the gauge i have it stays at 25psi which i think is a little less than 2bar.
Thanks for all your help folks. I probably should have got a plumber in the first place when i saw it was a sealed system but i have learned a lot in the last few days..thanks again.
