Hi all,

A bit of advice please! Moved into rented accom with CH with Combi boiler.

The boiler seems to be old and you have to top up the pressure every few days to stop it from dropping below 1 bar. But if you do this it tends to work fine.

Today I have picked the mrs up from the train station, left the CH on, nice and warm - come back and its fine but it has stopped for no reason after she was in for about 30 mins.... pressure is OK at above 1 bar but the pilot light turns on then off after 10 seconds now the ONLY thing I can think of is she has turned the W.Machine on about the same time as the heating was on? Can this trigger the boiler to go off? Maybe the plumbing/installation is wrong?

Any help would be great!
Ben

W.Machine just finished - tried the heating straight after - on first time!!!!

how is this possible!??!

Any other symptoms? If you top up to 1 bar (ish) with the heating system cold, then run the system up to temperature, does the heating pressure rise? If so then by how much? The washing machine shouldn't affect the boiler, especially in heating mode, although if the w/m is drawing hot water it will of course stop the heating coming on whilst this is happening. I assume the hot water works at all other outlets?
