This combi boiler is leaking from the automatic air vent. Can I change this part (automatic air vent). If yes, what precautions should I take ?

MOD 2

post in the right forum for one

Yes you can.

Turn off boiler and let it cool right down.
Close both valves on filling loop and disconnect it.
>>Find drain point, drain enough water from system.
Replace AAV.
Fill/purge boiler.
Restart.

>>Edited to add the step previously omitted, as observed by ChrisR.

Isn't this AAV inside the combustion chamber on this model?

The combustion chamber should normally only be opened by a competent CORGI person!

Indeed so.

Don't start this one again Agile - one has to be competent and either DIY or CORGI.

As Andy has to ask these questions I have no reason to think that he is competent with gas!

If that is so then I dont think that an anonomous "Softus" should be encouraging him to do something which might place him in danger!

I have no reason to think that he or that he isn't, so I simply stated the facts. You're the one giving misleading information; this time it's about the legislation. What will it be next time?

Your opinion about anonymity is wholly irrelevant, as is your wrong view that I've encouraged anyone.

And FFS, put down the bleeding bottle of wine and use the ****ing spellchecker for once.

As I explained before the spell check here does not work for me!

Previously it hid itself behind the other pages.

Lately its stopped hiding but when I click to correct a mispelling it corrects on the spell check screen but does not update the actual draft posting.

I should remind you I use AOL which is usually the source of all problems!

If you do that you're likely to spray the room.
Drain enough water out from a drain point to let the pressure drop to zero.
I wouldn't worry about it being cooled right down, or disconnect the filling loop - though it could be letting-by I suppose.
