I popped in a charity shop today, as I sometimes do, to see what they had on offer and something caught my eye, but it took me a while to work out what it was. There were several shelves of books, all beautifully arranged, sequentially, beginning on the top left with the pure red, and ending on the bottom right with the pure blues, working very gradually between the two extremes, through all of the possible colours. Curious.

I used to put my food shopping through the tills in spectral order - the till assistants didn't ever notice, but it did look pretty on the conveyor belt! :)

I remember a pub refit in East Grinstead, it had a section done out as a library and there were thousands of books - all arranged by colour: reds on one wall, browns on another etc.

I assumed they were dummy books - but no, I dug a few out and they were most definitely real books - all old hardbacks.

IIRC there was a 'Two Ronnies' sketch on TV years ago about a library with books arranged by colour and size.
