hi... i am having my kitchen floor wooded and this will lift the floor up. my washer only just fits under the work top.when the new floor is fitted i will not be able to get my washer out if its wants any repairs. would it be feasable and safe to take the top off my washer, this would give me about 5cm of space and would solve the problem.
any thoughts and advise welcome.
cheers mickcoulson

Yes you could remove the lid; BUT....It could be a serious danger if you have inquisitive small fingers in the house. It would also make the washer noisier, expose electrical components to water damage from above, & could be a potential fire hazard as containment is compromised once the lid is removed. I would give Bosch a call & ask if they supply a height reduction kit for your model (have the machine E-number ready). If that's no-go make your own lid from a piece of mild steel plate, old washer sideplate etc.
