Bosch dishwasher (SGS4332GB) - not using hot water

We have a Bosch dishwasher (model SGS4332GB/29) 8 years old.

We noticed over a few days that it wasn't washing and drying properly, and found that it's washing in cold water. No heat at all appears to be there at any stage in the cycle. We've tried different programs & opened the door mid-cycle to feel the water (cold).

Does this sound like a heating element replacement is needed - or could it be something else ? If the element, is this a DIY job (I'm reasonably adept at DIY) and how do I get at it ?

could be heater or the relay on the pcb sometimes dry joints on the relay causes this .
