Hi, the dishwasher tripped the mains mid-cycle tonight...when we tried to reset the tripped fuse a couple of times it just went bang each time (hence working out it was the dishwasher) 
. Nasty burnt/smoky smell (no actual smoke or fire thankfully) and nothing on the display panel. Would only reset the fuse once we'd 'turned off' the dishwasher - ie pressed the button again, since we can't see any indication of whether it's on or not.
Have baled out all the soapy water and wondering whether there's anything we can do before resorting to an engineer.
