Hello,
I was given this machine a couple of years ago and therefore no manual or idea how old it is. ?It has had alot of use and for some strange reason is not spinning? I left it for a while then tried it again today and it did do a tiny spin but that was it..nothing from then on. It carried on going through its cycle but just no spinning. I have clean the filter at the bottom of the machine, but im not sure what else i might be able to do?

If any kind person could perhaps give me some ideas i would be truly grateful.

:D

check length of carbon brushes on the motor ,
2 found either side of the motor with a wire attached . if less than 20mm or so then its the main reason

check the motor module in case you may have failed a part of the circuit board or a component . can happen when brushes get too low. looks like this http://www.casaparts.co.uk/products/id-25120917

Hello Cakeman,
Thankyou for your quick reply. Ive just been going through this site and thought it may well be the brushes. I will try and get alook at it later.

Thanks again,

Rachel

Hello Cakeman,
Ive got me fella to take the washing machine to bits and the bushes are worn down at an angle....the only thing is that he has taken the whole mount of .....ie the case that holds the bushes.(black plastic thing) im not sure if it makes any differance but we are hoping to order some new ones from internet. Ive watched the utude video about replacing them...but the motor i have seems bigger.

Anyways fingers crossed we will get it sorted soon.

Having three young kindie winks.....you dont need to be with out of a washing machine for long...

:(

some of these bosch motors its easier to take it apart
might need to sand the edges of the new brushes slightly so as they don't stick
let us know how you get on
remember to put the new ones in at the correct angle , is simple enough .
if you got this far , then you have done the hardest part

Hello and thankyou again for your reply.

My fella is going into a shop to buy some today. When you say the right way? are they just not flat? :?

Anyway..is a clever boy..im sure he will sort it... :D

Thanks again,

Rachel

they have an angle on them , but your fella will spot that i am very sure
nothing to worry about really , i'm just trying to explain in detail and making it sound more complicated than it is . :)

Hello,
Yes its all done and washing machine working fine now. Slighty different noise when spinning but i think its due to the new brushes.

Thanks again

Rachel

Hello,
My fella has replace the brushes....and it seemed to be spinning fine, but every now and again a aweful smell comes from it. We have checked the motor and brushes again and they have really worn down?

We think that maybe we had the wrong brushes in? so have ordered some new ones that come with their housing.

Any suggestion would be truly welcome.

Rachel

if the back has a metal plate you can take off to expose the inner of the back and see the motor
run it DO NOT TOUCH ANYWHERE NEAR IT
have a look to see any tell tale signs for the smell

Hello Cakeman,
Thankyou for your reply...i have left all the hard work stuff to my fella...im just trying to make sure we dont have to buy a new washing machine.

The smell seems to come when the drum goes through a slow spin part of the cycle. There is quite alot of arcing when the motor runs in reverse but virtually none when it runs forwards.

We brought the parts from partpoint ...we quoted the model number and the parts were given.

Rachel
