when our 2 year old boiler fires up it starts with a bang and the housing rattles. Has anyone else had a problem like this and what did they do please. It has done it from new, but it is very irritating. Our service engineer can come up with no cure. any help at all please.

Why was it not called in at the start under warranty  Must be some sort of explosive ignition where the ignition is not coming in soon enough, thats what it would be with gas. I'm no oil engineer, but surely the principles are the same

The place to start will be the air setting which may be too high, then electrode settings, possibly nozzle also due for change. In any event the burner is either not commissioned correctly or settings need checking if not serviced annually. This may have led to premature baffle failure which would also contribute to symptom. Can almost rule out manufacturing defect.
