Box-on-the-wall, or separate pump?

I will be refurbing two upstairs bathrooms and want to boost water flow to the (currently gravity fed) showers. What factors should I consider in choosing between (a) box-on-the-wall thermostatic units with integrated pump - which seem quite neat - and (b) a separate impeller pump to supply both showers?

I have an ordinary (non-combi) boiler. Cold water tank is in the loft and HWC next door to one of the bathrooms.

Boxes on the wall are noisy in the shower area.

Remote pumps are noisy in that remote area (e.g. in the airing cupboard).

Boxes on the wall are not very powerful compared to (the most powerful) separate pumps.

If you buy two wall-boxy-pumpy things, then you have two pumps to go wrong. Also, each would need an electrical supply.
