Hi, i have a part of a room that is below the external ground level (victorian building) and has some problems with penetrating damp. In the long term i'm going to install a French drain outside but would like to plaster with something that can handle the damp.
My plasterer suggested bitumen tanking followed by renovating plaster, but this will only hide the problem and i'm worried it could force moisture to egress elsewhere. So my solution is to use a breathable plaster. Izonil sound like they do the job: www.izonil.com but i'm wondering if anyone's used it or if there are any alternatives?
