Hi all,

I am re-vamping my garden and want to put a breathable membrane under my decking and pebbles, when i had my roof replaced, the roofers left behind loads of "Marley breathable pitched roof underlay" . do you reckon this would be ok to act like touram ( or however its spelled)
If so this could make a good saving on my job

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

I am not sure but don't think it would work as roofing felt is designed to keep water out and whilst breathable is relatively waterproof. Landscaping fabric is designed to let water pass through.

you could trial it by putting it down for a week or two without the chippings/gravel and see what happens if you already have a load of it?

might give that a go, and if the water does dissipate, happy days, saved a couple of bob, thanks again

Why would a fabric designed to stop water penetrating be useful when you need a fabric that allows water to penetrate? The water will run off and no doubt some will bubble through but it won't work anything like as effectively as some £10 weed membrane.

Proper membrane it is then !!!!!!!!!!!

cheers
