Hi, I have just removed a gas fire from the wall and want to brick up the gap. The fire is on the same wall as the neighbour. Do I need to put in an airbrick? It seems a bit odd if so as I will be decorating over this area so it will be covered, but other Internet sites say you need an airbrick? Thanks![/list]

Yes you do need an airbrick at the bottom + rain cap on the pot; if you donlt you will get get damp problems.

That's great, thanks. Is it ok to then plaster over the airbrick? Would that not just block it anyway?
