Hi, we are buying a house with a lean to conservatory that spans the length of the back of the house. It's connected to the kitchen/diner by both a back door in the kitchen part and french doors in the diner part. We want to replace the kitchen and it would make the layout much better if we can change the kitchen door into a window and keep the french doors as the access to the conservatory. I don't think we need permission to do this but do we need to get a building regulations certificate? This is our first home and we're going in circles trying to Google it.

Thanks in advance!

Just phone building/planing regs department at council. I've done it a few times for garden fence question and knocking down garage.
Very helpful and will point you in the right direction.
No charge or anything.

That was my thought but there are regional planning laws and restrictions.
