Hi
Does anyone know if these taps fail on a reg basis ours is just inside the 5 year warranty period. But the hot water tank failed 2 months after the stand years guarantee. Basically the tank doesn't keep temp and switches off , so it's basically become a bloody kettle. But now the tap has developed a leak from underneath and both myself and our plumber can't get the hose tails out at all . We feel the leak is from the middle of the tap internally .
Bristan are sending out an engineer with a new tap but if that's fitted we will only have around 4 months left on warranty . The problem is I keep reading you have to have same make tap to the hot water tank. Can't we have a new bristan tap with a new different make hot water tank as surely the fittings are the same . As it looks like a standard screw thread for water and a plastic push on hose for the hot water feed to the tap .
