Why would CORGI would want to ban independent gas fitters? They get their "notification" fee either way. And in these days of "anti-monopolisation" then as soon as any moaning red notices BG cornering the market they would haul them up and demand they don't do as well as a business (can you tell I'm a capitalist? )

As to routers... it only translates IP's between the internet and your network... the IP address presented to the internet is not affected by whether or not you are using a router. So, your assuming you are hidden because you have a router is like sending threatening letters with your house address written at the top... but not telling them which bedroom you sleep in.

ip is hidden m8ty more so if you make your own ip up as you can if you have a router

Adam is right - you are probably just changing your internal IP - the external facing IP that your ISP issues you I doubt would be affected. Even if using a dial up / dynamic IP ISP they can still trace back to you if they really need to - your ISP will log which IP was issued to which user account I would think.

Some people use proxy services to mask their identities but if you were breaking the law I am pretty sure the fuzz could trace right back to your PC if required. It does help mask though against most general identification.

As a test search for whatsmyip and go on that site. See if you can get that to change by fiddling with your router....

Adam an chilluk are right regarding using a router

to be 1000% anony use chained ssl tunnelled anonymous proxies in anti western countries ie , North Korea ..China ,Iran etc ,at least 15 different chained anonymous proxies will stop any LEA/Police snoops .......you need to do this if you visit black/grey hat sites now ...
