Hi,

I've recently moved into a property that contains a Brittony II T multipoint instantaneous water heater. I had it serviced when I moved in and it has been working fine.

As the weather has gotten warmer, naturally I've been wanting to have cooler showers. The temperature of the water coming from the hot water tap has always been near boiling and when I went to try and turn it down on the temperature dial, it won't turn at all.

Is there a way I can fix this myself without calling a plumber?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

The outer case has to be removed to access the control valves. This should only be done by a competent person. It is possible to repair by dismantling and greasing, but in a lot of cases a new valve is required. It is not advisable as a DIY repair.

Don't you have a cold tap which you can open to mix cold and hot together to give fifty shades of warm?

Ok thanks Pete. And yes Tony, I do, but the water is so piping hot that I have to turn the cold on almost all the way and I can never get a satisfying temperature.
