Hi,
I want to build a 'sliding door wardrobe' in one of my bedrooms, but am a bit of a DIY novice so need help.
I have looked at the doors etc in B&Q, Homebase, Wickes etc but the doors all seem to be a standard 89" high. My floor to ceiling measurement is 95" so I am 6" out. Do I add in a plinth of 6" at the top to fit my runner to ? If so, how does this attach to the ceiling - do I have to drill down from the loft ?
Alternatively, I have been told of 'plastic spacer blocks' that you can attach to the ceiling, build up (or down) to the desired height then attach the rail to them ? (not sure how secure this would be). Then I just fit a covering plinth / valance to cover this.
Is this going to be a simple case of Top Track, Bottom Track, Doors and an end panel ? Or am I in too deep..
Am I on the right lines here ? Any pointers gratefully received.
