Hello Wonder if anyone can help.(1 )Few days ago had water dripping through ceiling. This was comming from expansion tank overflowpipe ? Pipe was open ended and not going anywhere. Never happened before in 7 years.
(2)Today have tried to put cental heating on and loud banging and gurgling noise then seems to shut off. Cnat get any heating. Are both things connected?
Pilot light is on on boiler. Still hot water but this may be from stored in tank .
Boiler is Trianco Gas 25/45 Have a cylinder in airing cupboard .
Also check water in both tank in loft and full. Tried ballcock in expansion tank and moves up and down but doesnt seem to let water in. Is this right. Hope this makes some sense.

sounds like heating system is not filling from f&e tank, probably blocked causing insufficient water in heating system to boil over into f&e tank via expansion pipe. this would explain rising water level in tank to overflow outlet. get rgi to check system. blockage is usually where feed pipe joins system pipe and usually needs to be cut out and replaced.
