hi everyone, just wondering if this gap is too large to be sealed with scilicon sealent? i.e. do i have to adjust the bath first? or should it be ok once i've cleared off the old sealent?

thanks

The gap looks perfect, the silicone looks awful.
When you've cleaned it all off keep the bath filled with water as in the pic, while you reseal it and for 24 hrs afterwards.

Yep, cut scrape and shave it all out then Clean with meths and use a good silicone, like Dow Corning Sanitary

One tip is to silicone the gap as normal, but before you touch it it your finger, spray it with soapy water, then run your finger along for a perfect seal.

The soapy water stops any drag of the silicone.

Best tip is practice so you can do it right. Then you need no water. If you trap water in the sealand, it'll go black with mould whatever selant you use.
At a push, use a special tool, or a credit card corner.

Why has the original sealant (looks like a sealant strip?) separated from the bath? If the bath is sinking this needs to be addressed before there is any point in re-doing the seal.
