I have 2 identical eton alarms installed in two properties. Is it possible to use the same fob to activate and deactivate each alarm or do I need to carry around two chunky fobs?

Possibly, depending on your system it will determine on how you import the fob from one system to the other.

For example:-

Texecom premier and elite panels you could:-

Either import the tags from one system onto another system via the keypad and presenting to the new system using import rather than new.

Or using wintex you can type in the number for the tag and send it across.

Other systems have similar processes

If it’s a radio fob you may not be able to add it to multiple systems as some radio fobs need to be defaulted or unlearned to be relearned on another system.

Contact the manufacturer's support line and ask them!

They would ask the same question, ie what panel, keypad and fob type?

For example some panels whilst capable of using prox tags, if they don’t have a prox keypad you wouldn’t be able to use the same tag.

Radio devices it will depend on a few things.

1. Having both systems wireless capable
2. Being able to assign the radio fob to two different panels this is the biggest stumbling block for most radio fobs.

For example if you had say a premier 832 and an elite 24, from memory you would have to do the 832 system first according to manufacturers guidance and then import into the elite panel. This may have changed on more modern versions of the 832 but would have to check.

So it is very dependant on;-

Panel type
Keypad type
Fob type

As to if you can do it and how you would do it.
