I am building a new wall on top of the an existing one to convert my house from a single story to two story house. the cavity of the existing walls are 60mm. can I widen the new wall by 15mm each side so that I can put more insulation (xtherm full fill 75mm)
can the cavity all be widened by 15mm

Simple answer is probably yes but get it OK’d by building control
You can overhang by up to one-third the thickness of a skin.
