We are looking to landscape our garden garden, and will be excavating earth as shown in the first two pictures to allow us to flatten/tier our garden.
This leaves us with approximately 24 tonnes of earth that we need to excavate in total.
However, in the third picture, there is a "step down" from our house to the back garden, of circa 130mm (i.e. the height of the floor of the house is c. 130mm higher than the level of the garden/paving slabs).
Could (some of) the earth that we are excavating be used to fill in the area of the garden nearest the house, so that the garden would effectively be raised by circa 130mm beside the house and therefore there would be no "step down" when we walk from the house into the back garden?
Or is this not advisable given damp (or other) problems that may occur?
