I know what I want (& it isn't a kick up the @r$e...... Probably need one tho .. Tough love & all that)

I'm going to order a Vitodens 200 System boiler 7176543
Got the flue sorted Z002852

I want the timer gadget onboard (nice bells & whistles one) , the outside probe thingumi & a room stat fer me hall :) ohh I want a cylinder stat too..... Dunno if I should go elswhere for that tho

Anyone know exactly what I want ? (Emailed Viessmann & they are taking their sweet time)

The more I read the less I understand the marketing guff

I even have a heating eng lined up to fit/comission & stuff :D

Panick Over ........ "They foned me"

Anyways ..... The dude knew his subject & he rhymed off part numbers to me great stuff ........ If anyones interested here they is.

Vitodens 200 System boiler:......7176543.........(24Kw sys boiler)
Flue............................................Z002852........(Std horisontal Flue)
Interface Module........................7179113........(Module)
Weather computer.....................7177405.......(In boiler programmer with out door temp sensor)
Fixing kit....................................Z002786........(Box O bits to bolt it to a finished wall)

Just over a Bag O' sand in £'ss

Before you rush out and but that....

I think that using that has a problem that it will not respond to the temperature INSIDE you house!

To do that I think that you have to use a different REMOTE unit rather than one fitted into the boiler in the garage!

The different remote is fitted inside the house and when set up takes into account the temperature inside the house as well as outside.

Boilers in the Bathroom........... To relay the info to another controller/room stat is another 280 ish ........... Which is ****** really ........ Ok it does other stuff too but thats goin a bit too far

Do I HAVE TO have a stat in one of the living areas to conform to some code or other ?......

The way I think this system is designed is it deals with the external ambient & the Trv's do the rest .......

The regulations say that you have to have an "interlock" which is usually a room stat.

I would say that you can just use the weather compensation BUT not taking into account the internal temperature may give you wrong heat outputs when the external temperature is rapidly changing at sunrise and sunset for example.

Neither will it take into account heat generated inside when you have all your friends round for dinner.

Does try it with the TRV's doing the thinking & then keep a few quid (think 300) back to buy a remote stat kit if it all turns out badly sound reasonable to you ?

It sounds freakin' dear to me ......... Or do you have another solution ?

I like the outside temp monitoring idea ....... Don't ask me why ...... I just do :o

I agree that sounds like a good idea.

The TRVs even if liquid filled take 20-30 minutes to respond to a change in temperature.

This is gonna be in the bathroom cupboard ............ I can't help thinking that the Krauts would of thought of this & built in a means to connect a joe soaps inc room stat ..... instead ....... Hey but I have been wrong before ...... Frequently as it goes 8)

Ahh Ferkit, I'll just order up the bits & see what I get :? ........... No wonder I'm always skint

The Viessmann WC system does not monitor indoor temperatures as you say, Agile.

It is designed for the typical, perfect German house where insulation levels are consistent throughout and therefore WC can be applied uniformly.

Furthermore, their cylinder thermistor is not approved for other people's unvented cylinders. To the best of my knowledge on Vaillant and Viessmann have G3 approval for thermistor control of HW and then it is only when a Viessmann UV cyl is used with a Viessmann boiler.

Finally, a Viessmann system boiler running WC will always do HW priority over CH. If you have a Viessmann super cylinder with ultra fast coil this is great, if you do not, customers have complained to us in the past about the latency.

200 series upwards (to be replaced by a new model in Oct) is good stuff but complicated to specify......

Ummmmmmm .......... Gawd ......... It puts me right in to the cold envelope of the british winter ........ Are they going to price it to death cos its new...... Thats the question :?

I've been advised of a guide price £1,400.00 ............

I'm going to phone around a bit tomorrow, see whats what with the discounts , but thats quite some increase

After chatting to a supplier in Germany ...... I can get the smallest Vitodens 200W (System Boiler 4.8 to 19Kw) with a simple Vitotronic 100 (Timer thingi) fer £1,200 + shipping, or the same with a Vitotronic 200 for £1,475 + shipping ..... I couldn't conclude whether that came with the interface & cylinder probe or not ....I'm guessing it did......

On top of that of course you need the Flue & wall hanger

So to summarise, yeah they are going to start supplying the Vitodens 200W range here & unfortunately they are a hefty bit dearer...... Ok they may be worth the money & all that ...... But a increase is pushing it out of my price range (Can afford NOT willing to pay)

So back to my original idea of a Vitodens 200 & no "W" fer me :?

Of course they might make the commercial decision to sell them cheaper over here...... But I doubt it.... Audi/BMW/Mercedes yadda yadda don't
