There are no obvious faults with the machine BUT shirts etc often end the wash with small (say 3mm) stains of reddish rust appearance.

Anyone know what problem/solution may be ?

Thanks

I had a machine that did that.

The engineer told me it was a leaking bearing at the back of the machine. I was better to replace the machine than repair.

Thanks for this. I see bearing kits are fairly inexpensive --- but probably not a DIY job ?

I have just noticed that the seal (where visible through the glass door - has a deposit of small particles . Not much bigger than pinheads , but lots of them . They are blackish and do not wipe off ! Could this be related and does anyone know how to clean these particles off the seal ?

Thanks
